The short version

Verdict is a personal tool. It reads your own League of Legends matches so it can coach you — and that's the only reason it ever touches your data. We don't sell it, we don't advertise to you, and we don't track you around the web. If you ask us to delete everything, we will. The rest of this page is the detail behind those promises.

What Verdict is

Verdict (“Verdict”, “we”, “us”) is a personal diagnostic app for League of Legends: it studies your own match history and explains why you win and lose. This policy explains what data Verdict handles, why, where it's kept, and the control you have over it. It covers both the Verdict desktop app and this website.

The data Verdict works with

Verdict reads your League data through the official Riot Games API, using the Riot ID you give it. That data includes:

  • Account identifiers — your Riot ID (game name and tagline) and your PUUID, a stable account ID that Riot assigns.
  • Ranked standing — your tier, division, and LP.
  • Champion mastery — your per-champion mastery levels and points.
  • Your match history and match timelines — the detailed record Riot keeps of the games you played: champions, kills and deaths, objectives, gold, items, and the minute-by-minute events of each match.
  • Your live game, while you're in one — the current game's state (who is in it and how it's unfolding), read through Riot's API and the game client's own local live-data feed. It's shown to you in the moment and not retained.

Verdict also keeps the few settings you provide in the app itself — for example, the champions you declare as your mains — so it can tailor its analysis to you.

Everything above is read for your own account. Verdict does not read your messages, your friends list, or anything outside League of Legends.

Other players in your matches

A League game has ten players, so the record of your games necessarily includes the other nine players' in-game data for those same games — their champions, their in-game stats, and their Riot ID display names, exactly as Riot returns them. Verdict uses this to make sense of your matches (for example, who you were up against and how the game unfolded). Verdict can also look up a player's public match record on demand — the same public data Riot serves to every stats site — for example, to size up an opponent before a game. In every case it reads public in-game data only: we never contact other players, and we never try to identify anyone who isn't already identifiable from the game itself.

What Verdict never collects

  • No passwords or login details. You sign in to Riot through Riot. Your Riot login never touches Verdict — we never see it.
  • No payment information. Verdict doesn't take payments, so it holds none.
  • No advertising or cross-site tracking identifiers.
  • No data from outside League of Legends.

Why we use your data

There is one purpose: personal gameplay analytics for you, the account owner — diagnosing your leaks and coaching you. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

If you're in the UK or the EEA: we process your data to provide the service you asked for (performing our agreement with you) and, where it applies, on the basis of your consent — which you can withdraw any time by asking us to delete your data.

Where your data lives

Verdict runs on a small number of reputable infrastructure providers that process data only on our behalf, to keep the app working:

  • Neon — a managed PostgreSQL database — stores the raw match and timeline data from Riot, plus the rows Verdict derives from it. (Neon privacy)
  • Upstash — a managed Redis service — holds a cache of computed analysis so the app stays fast. (Upstash privacy)

These providers may process data on servers outside your country (for example, in the United States). Where that means moving personal data out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards.

Optional AI coaching

Verdict can turn short, match-derived facts into written coaching using Anthropic's API. This feature is off by default. If you turn it on, Verdict sends only the facts needed to write the coaching — not your Riot login, and not raw identifiers beyond what the coaching requires. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models and retains it only for a limited time to run the service. (Anthropic privacy)

We don't sell or share your data

We never sell, rent, or trade your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers named above, strictly to run Verdict, and only where the law requires us to.

How we protect it

Your data travels encrypted (TLS) between Verdict, Riot, and the providers named above, and lives in managed services with industry-standard protections. Access is limited to the operator of Verdict. No system is perfectly secure, but the surface here is deliberately small: one purpose, a handful of named providers, and no ad tech.

This website & cookies

This website is a plain static site. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Our web host may record standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the site secure and online, as is normal for any website. The Verdict desktop app is not a web page and uses no web cookies.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist on our home page, we store exactly two things: the email address you gave us, and when you joined. It's kept in our web host's storage (Cloudflare), alongside this website. We'll use it to send one announcement when Verdict is ready — that is the only email the list will ever receive. No newsletter, no marketing, and the list is never shared or sold. Sending that one announcement will involve an email delivery service; we'll name that provider here before anything is sent. To come off the list, email privacy@verdictlol.com at any point and we'll delete your address. (To limit spam sign-ups, the form briefly counts submissions per connection using a salted, one-way scrambled fingerprint — it never contains your email, and it deletes itself within a day.)

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your data for as long as your Riot account is registered with Verdict, so the app can read trends across your games over time. You can ask us to delete your data at any point — email us at the address below. When you do, we remove your stored match data, the rows we derived from it, and the cached analysis. Routine backups may hold copies for a short while before they cycle out.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the UK, the EEA, or California), you have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or limit certain uses of it. To use any of these, just email us. Because Verdict is a personal tool tied to your own Riot account, in most cases the simplest path is to ask us to delete everything. If you're in the UK or EEA you can also complain to your local data protection authority — though we'd like the chance to put things right first.

Children

Verdict isn't directed to children. To use it you must have a Riot Games account, meet Riot's own age requirements, and be old enough to agree to this policy under the law where you live. We don't knowingly collect data from children below that age; if we learn that we have, we'll delete it.

Riot Games

Verdict uses the Riot Games API in line with Riot's developer policies. Your use of League of Legends and your Riot account is also governed by Riot's own Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of the page. For anything significant, we'll do more to make sure you know.
